ShortColEC2 — Axial and Flexural Analysis of Reinforced Concrete Members per Eurocode 2
- Axial
- Bending
- Crack Width
ShortColEC2 computes the ultimate limit state (ULS) strength and serviceability limit state (SLS) crack width of reinforced concrete columns subjected to combined axial load and bending. Ultimate strength is determined using strain compatibility analysis with an equivalent rectangular concrete stress distribution. An optional wizard-style interface guides input step by step, making it simple and interactive.
Supported Design Code
- Eurocode 2 — EN 1992-1-1:2004
Key Features
- Generates uniaxial and biaxial ULS axial force–bending moment interaction diagrams
- Calculates crack width at SLS
- Supports circular and rectangular cross-sections
- Supports typical and irregular reinforcement layouts
Limitations
- Column slenderness effects are not considered
- Biaxial analysis is approximate, based on interaction formulas between the two principal axes
- Prestressed reinforcement is not supported
- Unbonded reinforcement is not supported
