This Excel spreadsheet is for analysis of straight beam-columns. It has tabs for the analysis of compression and tension cases for a concentrated intermediate load, a concentrated intermediate moment, and a linear varying distributed load that goes from any point "a" to any point "b" (as opposed to formulas in Roark's "Formulas for Stress and Strain" which goes from a point "a" to the end). Each of the cases contain end constraint cases for: 1. Both ends simply supported; 2. One end simply supported the other fixed; 3. Both ends fixed; and, 4. Cantilever. In addition, there is a tab for compression cases that are those that are typical. Two "Calc" tabs show the detailed analysis steps used for the linear varying distributed loading that is used.
This awessome free spreadsheet is a cortesy of Eugene McClain.
